Château Calissanne commits to the ‘Bonne Mère’

On Tuesday 25 March 2025, the first stone from the Calissanne quarry was hoisted to the top of the iconic Notre-Dame de la Garde church. This symbolic gesture marks a new step in the restoration of the statue of the Virgin and Child and its bell tower, which have dominated Marseille for over a century.

As a committed patron, we are proud to be contributing to this major renovation by supplying the cut stone needed for the work. Extracted from our quarry, this limestone is helping to preserve the architectural and spiritual identity of a monument so dear to the hearts of the people of Marseille.

A charity wine: ‘Hommage à la Bonne Mère’

To take this commitment to our heritage even further, we have created a special cuvée available in red, rosé and white: ‘Hommage à la Bonne Mère’. This charity wine embodies our love for Marseille, its history and its symbols.
For every bottle sold, €1 is donated to the Foundation dedicated to restoring the church.
It’s a simple, practical gesture, to ensure that the Good Mother continues to watch over the city of Marseille… and those who love her.
