A quintessentially terroir-driven red wine, Château Calissanne exudes Medeterranean aromas of garrigue scrubland and wild red berry fruits. Typicity and a very moreish style in the same bottle.
Dégustation
2016 – An attractive bright red, this wine instantly proffers blackberries, blackcurrants and liquorice. The powerful nose gives way to a fleshy mouthfeel, with subtle tannins offering mouth-watering appeal. This terroir-driven wine is very well balanced: typicity, but a consensus-builder too!
Informations
Vinification
The grapes are vatted at low temperature (10-12°C) and then cold-macerated for a few days. Vinification is short, so that the cuvée retains all of its rounded profile and fruitiness. After the various varieties are blended, the wine is bottled in the spring.
Conseils Mets & Vins
A pleasant companion for convivial mealtimes: meat dishes, fine poultry, and cheese.
And an unsuspected side: served chilled, it goes really well with fish (John Dory pot au feu, swordfish, tuna).
